Welcome to Carnegie WorldWide
This page will give you a brief introduction to Carnegie WorldWide and to our philosophy behind investments.
Carnegie WorldWide is owned by more than 20,000 unit holders. The only purpose of the mutual fund is to manage the investors' funds in a way that results in long term return that are among the every best when compared to the results of the leading international providers of investment products.
Carnegie WorldWide is one of Denmark's leading providers of mutual funds. We believe that focus paves the way to international top performance and we have therefore chosen to focus on producing a few high quality investment products.
All investments in Carnegie WorldWide's products are based on an investment philosophy we call "trend based stock-picking". This way of investing differs from most other fund providers in several ways and is - when combined with a skilled team of experienced investment managers - the key driver behind the good investment results the investors in Carnegie WorldWide/Global Equities have obtained since 1990.
Our fundamental views on international fund management are:
-
An early identification of long-term global trends which have significant impact on investments, is crucial. This provides an important tool to sort information and focus analytic resources.
-
The long-term investor achieves the highest return. Time works for investments in an excellent individual stock or sector, but against investments in an average stock or sector.
-
Thorough stock-picking enables higher returns and/or reduces the investment risk. It is better to have thorough knowledge of relatively few stocks than to obtain diversification in a large batch of shares. A portfolio of 20 to 30 stocks provides a sufficiently high theoretical risk diversification and makes it possible to invest sufficient analytic resources in each investment to reduce the risk of being wrong in our judgement on the long-term prospects.
As our investment style is pure stock picking, the fund is managed with very little orientation to the benchmark.
The mutual funds are administrated by Carnegie Asset Administration A/S, and Carnegie Asset Management Fondsmæglerselskab A/S has been investment manager since the launch. Carnegie Asset Management was started in 1986.
